How to Get to the Lockyer Valley

There are plenty of ways to get to the Lockyer Valley, whether you’re after a scenic journey or a direct flight.

By Rail or Bus

TransLink’s Ipswich train can take you from Brisbane to Rosewood where you can change to Bus Route 539. Enjoy the views and depart at one of the many stops within the Lockyer Valley.


As the nation’s only national bus service, Greyhound Australia can get you to your destination.
They offer daily services between Brisbane and Toowoomba with a range of planned and optional stops. Stop at Plainland, Withcott and Gatton or request a stop at Helidon Spa.

Take a drive on the Ipswich Motorway to get to the Lockyer Valley. Simply follow the Toowoomba signs before exiting onto Warrego Highway, which runs directly through the Valley.
If you’re travelling within South East Queensland, you can usually get here within an hour. We’re about 60 minutes away from West Brisbane, 30 minutes from Ipswich, and 40 minutes from Toowoomba.

By Air

You can fly to Brisbane Airport and enjoy a leisurely drive to the region in less than an hour.Alternatively, fly to Brisbane West Airport (near Toowoomba) and land just a 30-minute drive from the Lockyer Valley. Qantas Links offers direct flights from Sydney to Brisbane West.
